Give me some space

At the end of September, the aliens land in Brugg and they're up to no good. After all, they save us long prefaces. The film titles themselves pretty well sum up what awaits you at Cinema Excelsior: KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE and INVADERS FROM MARS.

KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE (1988) — «I'ts crazy», it was said in the trailer and on the original poster. Even the copywriters didn't seem to have anything better in store to describe this crazy B-horror parody. Aliens who look like clowns end up in a village and terrorize the population. No one is interested in why this is the case. It's fun how they do it. Cakes, popcorn and cotton candy become weapons. Responsible for the crazy production are the three Chiodo brothers, who became more known outside the B-movie scene for their effects and worked on CRITTERS (1986) or TEAM AMERICA (2004), for example.

INVADERS FROM MARS (1986) is the glorious Cannon remake of the 1950s production of the same name and with Tobe Hooper, a director was at the start to whom you can easily entrust fantastic material. The young David Gardner observes the landing of extraterrestrial beings, but no one wants to believe him. When the extra-planetary villains start to pull off a veritable Body Snatcher act, he has to defend himself. Just the thing for adult children for whom E.T. was too well-behaved and who missed the aliens in THE GOONIES (1985).
