Hand-selected critters and creatures for your viewing relish

In the midst of the pre-Christmas atmosphere and in keeping with the (probably) planned eating binge, we let the voracious creatures loose on you. CRITTERS 2: THE MAIN COURSE and GREMLINS 2: THE NEW BATCH. A bit of anarcho-creature fun with little blood but even more goo.

On an intergalactic prison transport, a handful of extremely voracious creatures, Krites, manage to escape and fly to Earth. They are stalked and killed by intergalactic bounty hunters. Fortunately, the alien eggs are overlooked in the first part and that's how we finally come to CRITTERS 2: THE MAIN COURSE (1988). It continues as usual: the insatiable monster orbs eat their way through the population of a small town and are decimated by a new group of bounty hunters with super booms. The same thing please — just a lot more!

Compared to the Krites, Gremlins are fairly harmless and yet not to be underestimated. Especially not when they mutate into all sorts of new forms in GREMLINS 2: THE NEW BATCH (1990). This time, director Joe Dante was allowed to demolish a high-rise building in New York with five times the budget and the Gremlins came up with countless new jokes to make life difficult for people. Genre fans can also enjoy Christopher Lee, Robert Picardo or John Glover, and there is still new craziness to discover even after the thirty-fourth time you watch it.
