For years, the theme song of TALES FROM THE CRYPT made horror hearts around the world beat faster. When the Crypt Keeper unwrapped a new story, it was sometimes horrific, sometimes funny and always surprisingly bloody. Thanks to HBO, you didn't have to comply with the free TV censorship requirements. With DEMON KNIGHT and BORDELLO OF BLOOD, we are showing the two feature film releases in a double pack. Unfortunately, a Double Fearture is not enough for the 93 episodes of the series.
A ragtag group of motel guests must fight to survive when they are suddenly besieged by demons. This is due to “The Collector” (Billy Zane), who wants to remove Brayker's (William Sadler) bloodstone to conjure up the Apocalypse. But he does not give away the stone, which contains the blood of Christ, so easily. TALES FROM THE CRYPT: DEMON KNIGHT (1995) is in many ways the perfect feature film adaptation of the series full of practical effects and black humor.
BORDELLO OF BLOOD (1996) heads in a different direction, is more vampire parody and slapstick, but still offers a variety of wonderful effects. As the title suggests, the plot revolves around a brothel, in which there are bloody incidents from time to time. The operator, a powerful vampire named Lilith, is to blame for this. She likes to deprive horny men of their money and blood. When Caleb disappears, his sister Katherine hires a private investigator and sets out to search. What follows is a lot of bare skin and stupid humor — not far from what you've also seen in the series.
