The Dawn of a New Dead

Dawn of the Dead

Ana has just awakened from pleasant dreams, when her husband is already being mauled by the neighboring daughter, gets up again and starts at Ana. Even before the poorest person could make a coffee, the zombie apocalypse started. You can only take a breather in an almost abandoned supermarket. As it quickly turns out, however, zombies aren't the only enemies.

Although remakes of horror classics are popular with production companies, they are often received ambivalently by fans. You can argue that remakes make timeless stories more accessible to new generations of movie geeks. In many cases there is a lack of originality, inspiration or simply craftsmanship. However, when James Gunn writes the script and Zack Snyder, back when he still had a penchant for horror, takes over the direction, that can't be bad per se. DAWN OF THE DEAD then presses the action pedal and turns the rather calmly told original into a splatter orgy without a dot and comma, but with macabre plot points and determined zombies that would make even Usain Bolt look old.
