Jenny and Lucas move into a new neighborhood. The Idyllic Suburb has an efficient neighborhood association with strict lawn length requirements, but somehow everyone is also very nice. It gets strange at the first annual meeting of the neighborhood association, where Jenny and Lucas learn that a hell gate opens next door once a year and the monsters of the underworld crawl out of it. Only those who take up arms survive — and there are plenty of arms. The right one for every horrendous appearance.
HOLD THE FORT is a wonderful entertainment cinema and creates a lasting good splatter mood. Funny and weird characters, fun dialogue, surprising twists and, above all, lots of nasty bloodthirsty creatures that could have sprung from the storage rooms below CABIN IN THE WOODS (2011). Director William Bagley has already performed well in 2021 with THE MURDER PODCAST. Fans of horror comedies can gof or it without hesitation.
