In nomine Dario et Argento

The Church (La chiesa)

Like any good medieval cathedral, THE CHURCH was built over a mass grave to prevent evil forces from ever being able to wreak havoc again. And as in every good horror movie, someone makes a terrible effort to free these powers again. This time, it is Even, the cathedral's new librarian, who wants to reveal the secrets of this very same thing. With success, of course, and terrible consequences for many innocents.

Visitors to the first Brugggore lesson know it: Dario Argento and Lucio Fulci should appear at least once a year. Bad tongues say we've made the best films a long time ago. That is why 2026 is tricked. STRICTLY speaking, THE CHURCH is not an Argento movie, but it is still written by him. The program director is happy to receive written complaints personally. Everyone else can look forward to sinister demons and bloody special effects from the Handmade brand.

Beware! [Sexual Assault] [Sexual Content]

As with Dèmoni (1985) and Dèmoni 2 (1986) — directed by Lamberto Bava — Dario Argento did not direct THE CHURCH, but acted as screenwriter and producer. By the way, THE CHURCH is secretly traded as Dèmoni 3. I know Demoni 3 is by Umberto Lenzi and has absolutely nothing to do with the other two Dèmoni. The two directors mentioned were supported by Argento and were able to benefit from his name. After all, the master doesn't always have to do everything himself. The main thing is that his name is on it at the end.
