Revenge is self-defense

There is a Double Fearture at least once a season, where the fun must stay at home. THE SEASONING HOUSE is tough revenge horror and addresses abduction, trafficking in women and forced prostitution in a war environment. In THE GREEN ROOM, the appearance of a punk band in a dubious club becomes a brutal survival trip. At most, you are satisfied that at least a few fascists and warmongers are getting on the brink of it.

When THE SEASONING HOUSE (2012) was released on DVD without much fanfare, many probably didn't know what to do with it. The setting on the brink of the Bosnian War is too real, the fate of women who are abducted and forced into prostitution under the influence of drugs is too gruesome, and then there is also a deaf girl who must navigate through this violent environment. Harder than many Revenge films, in which revenge becomes glorified heroine acts, here abuse and trauma do not create a frivolous desire to kill — it remains a bitterly serious struggle for survival.

GREEN ROOM (2015) is similarly heated. An unsuccessful punk band ends up in a remote club, of all places, which is primarily run and visited by neo-Nazis. When they see something backstage that they shouldn't have seen, the situation escalates. It soon becomes clear that their tour will end in this place if they dont resist violently. Unusually evil, Patrick Stewart plays the charismatic but ice-cold leader of the fascist group. The result is a highly exciting mind game, which impresses without much action but with rough effects.
